Conference and Corporate Event Host, Emcee and Compere

“One of the key mistakes many organisations make when planning an event is to place an existing employee(s) in the role of the host or moderator.”

In James’ experience, it’s best to let employees apply their skills in the role they’re employed to do and for a professional corporate event host, emcee and compere to take on the fronting of events.

As an experienced international event host, James can work to help guarantee that the event runs well from start to finish. With his clear BBC English (except on request) diction he is also perfect for those events where many do not speak English as a first language.

The types of corporate events James has experience in hosting, compering and emceeing internationally include:

  • Conferences
  • Gala Dinners (including hosting dressed up in character – definitely no red coat on that occasion!)
  • Award Ceremonies
  • Product/Service Launches
  • Bespoke events (eg New Building Opening and Topping Out Ceremonies)

He is also highly experienced in guiding on etiquette (involving dignitaries and celebrities) and often consults with organisations on this basis. He can also coach any nervous speakers to deliver with impact on the day.

“The moment I saw and heard James running a trade show I hired him to run our most important event of the year, the Life Sciences symposium. He is a fast learner and acted as if he had been in our industry for years. He performed a great job keeping the people under control and not allowing them to get carried away with the time. He ran the event in a very professional way, with great connection with the speakers and most importantly our audience. Thanks James!”
