Look at these beautiful women. Claire and Amanda.

Today they celebrate their 6th anniversary and what a truly wonderful and memorable day it was 6 years ago.

However, it was also The Man in the Red Coat‘s very first engagement and so it is therefore my anniversary today also.

Since then I have run over 225 weddings, 234 other events (dinners, fundraisers, auctions, awards ceremonies, and parties) and not forgetting the 80 or so quizzes I have run in that time too.

I have worked for many national and private companies, including regular events with the likes of The Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering and the BMA.

I have officiated at events involving members of the Royal Family, including Her Majesty The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Royal.

I have raised over £750k as an auctioneer at the 12 or so charity events I have played that role at, not to mention others where I have been involved as a team player, raising over another 15 million or so.

I have been in disguise too, as Dumbledore, Qui Con Jin, Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast and most recently as Unilever frontman and Marketor, Keith Weed, to name but a few.

Finally, I have had the privilege to work in some of the most fabulous locations. These include some of the country’s finest buildings, such as Blenheim Palace and Mansion House. I have also run events internationally including in the 3 Vs, Venice, Vienna, and dare I say it Vegas.

So to Claire and Amanda. I wish you both a happy anniversary and a big thank you for being the first and for starting the ball rolling. It was my pleasure to be The Man in the Red Coat on your special day, as it is and has been, at all the events that have followed and that are still to come.

Here’s to the next 550 jobs.
